  • Till June 21, 2021, flights from Pakistan and India are suspended to Canada.
  • Till 21 June 2021, passengers apart from residents of Canada, or nationals citizens of Canada are not allowed to enter. Passengers who have a negative test report and are travelling because of the urgent need, must follow the rules of quarantine and minimum stay-length, i.e. 15 days.
  • Immediate family members of citizens or permanent residents of Canada who have a negative test report of COVID-19 must give proof of travelling to be with their Canadian family member and that they are ready to stay at least 15 days.
  • Tourists who enter because of an International Single Sport Event must be negative and have a written document which must be issued by the Deputy Minister of Canadian Heritage.
  • Airline Staff members and tourists must submit their info online, 72 hours before arrival through the ArriveCAN app or related website.
  • Passengers must carry their Coronavirus negative test report. The test must have been performed at most 72 hours before the departure of the last direct flight to Canada. Test which is accepted are: detection of the E gene, detection of Orf1a/b, detection of the RdRp gene, CRISPR, detection of N gene, Ct, detection of S gene, isothermal amplification, NAAT, NGS, qPCR, RT-LAMP, RNA, PCR, NAT, LamPORE, ddPCR, RT- PCR, sequencing and WGS. For India and Pakistan, test reports issued there will not be acc.
    • These test does not apply to travellers younger than 5 years.
    • The tourist must have to arrive at Calgary (YYC), Montreal (YUL), Vancouver (YVR) or Toronto (YYZ).
    •  This does not apply to passengers travelling directly from St. Pierre and Miquelon.
  •  Passengers may account for the quarantine for 14 days.
  •  Passengers must have a confirmation of hotel booking for at least 3 nights.
  •  This isn’t applicable to the members of the Canadian Force or any visiting army travelling on duty.
  • All travel restrictions to Canada may be extended if necessary for public health.

The Canadian government has implied travel restrictions to Canada, at its border with the US too, too many foreign countries. This exception will not apply to Canadian people and permanent residents of Canada or their families, temporary foreign workers and few overseas students.

If any passengers (citizen or non-citizen) who are showing symptoms of COVID-19 Virus will not be allowed to board and for that the air staff operates a basic health check-up to every passenger, during departure.

International flights are only operated from Vancouver International Airport (YVR); Toronto Pearson (YYZ); Calgary International Airport (YYC); and Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau (YUL). And domestic flights, and flights from the US, and some places like Mexico and the Caribbean and from St. Pierre-et-Miquelon, remains unaffected by this pandemic. These are the travel restrictions within provinces.

Every person who is arriving in Canada has to self isolate themselves for 14 days. If they don’t then penalties and legal actions can be taken against them. From 15th April, people have to create a self-made isolation routine in which situations like staying with elderly family members are prohibited. It also includes that if a person fails to do it or fails to find a destination to stay then they will be placed in a quarantine location, such as a hotel, for two weeks.

Each passenger must have a non-medical mask or face shield to cover their mouth and nose while travelling. If any passenger does not have any of it then he/she may get stopped from travelling.

For every country, today there is only one single motive and that is to curb the spread of coronavirus. In that, lots of financial loss happened and it’s happening. Tourism is restricted, many countries’ tourism departments are the major source of income of the country but they know that they can risk the lives of millions just for money. Many countries have implemented travel restrictions in their way. And there are numerous other travel restrictions to Canada.
